in-person visits

There are two locations for appointments:

The Latch Hatch: 3618 Lexington Rd, St Matthews, KY 40207.

La Grange Office: 111 S. 1st St. La Grange, KY 40031

Office visits last between 45 and 90 minutes and consist of the IBCLC:

  • Listening to your concerns about how breastfeeding is going.

  • Observing a feeding.

  • An examination of the mother’s breasts and baby’s mouth.

  • A weighted feeding is sometimes helpful in determining if baby is able to transfer milk efficiently from the breast. This involves weighing your baby before and after nursing. This information is not always useful and may be avoided if unnecessary.

  • Discussing your goals for breastfeeding and working with you to make a plan to achieve your goals.

There is no such thing as a “quick question”

Usually, a quick question does not have a quick answer. Tereza typically needs a lot more information from you depending on your ask. To help you properly, a full conversation or evaluation is needed, which takes time. It benefits both Tereza and you to fully understand your situation and question and she wants to be the most helpful that she can – which is why she requests you to schedule an appointment!
